Stick with it – “The maintenance of our health has been just tremendous.”
by Bill Thompson
I guess where to start is the 1950's, when I had an aneurysm, or stroke ... it was debatable at the time. I had an aerogram study at the hospital. After this transpired I was put on many medications, which did little or nothing to help me. I was partly paralyzed. I had problems with speech on the right side of my face. My memory wasn’t 100% either.
I was introduced to my first chiropractor, Dr. Dryburgh, via my first wife. Mrs. Thompson had dermatitis, caused by many years of working in a war plant with quartz chemical. You could see her bones and the joints in her fingers. She couldn’t even change the diaper on our young baby. Mrs. Thompson wasn’t seeing Dr. Dryburgh for that problem; she was sent there from the factory where she worked for her back problem. However, Dr. Dryburgh cured something that was never able to be cured by radiologists, treatments, or medications. After 7 years of trying everything else, Dr. Dryburgh was the only person that was able to do something for her dermatitis. This is what brought me in to the picture.
We discussed that I had been carrying on with problems for approximately a year. I was taking the medication, but I was pretty much a useless person. Dr. Dryburgh took X-rays, and found that the air study that was done at the hospital had lodged oxygen into my spine, near the lower part of the brain. He treated me for many months, approximately a year, and dislodged the oxygen that was left in there, that was causing the pressure on my nervous system.
I continued to see Dr. Dryburgh for many years, but like most people, when we start to feel better, we forget about the bad times. We get involved with life and things about it. I traveled extensively while I was employed, and ultimately I ignored my health. I want to explain to people that this is not the thing to do. Once you start with your chiropractic care, and you find that your health is far better than it has been in many years, never give up. Go for your adjustments. Whatever your chiropractor recommends, continuously go. Sometimes you may not even feel there is a benefit, but there is. It just never leaves you.
My suggestion to anyone – try chiropractic, no matter what you feel. Try it – it’s the only answer. It has been a life saver to me in more ways than one. Sometimes we find other things that we think are more important, but I know in my heart that chiropractic is something for the younger generation that should never be neglected.
The maintenance of our health has been just tremendous. Bea and I must thank all our chiropractors, past and present, from the bottom of our hearts.
