Chiropractic Care Reduces Blood Pressure
Journal of Human Hypertension, March 2, 2007, Reported on WebMD.com
According to the Journal of Human Hypertension, March 2, 2007, Chiropractic adjustments were more effective in lowering blood pressure than 2 medications combined! George Bakris, M.D. director of the University of Chicago hypertension center, said, “not only does it work, we saw no side effects and no problems!”
This was an 8 week study, where 25 patients with early-stage high blood pressure were specifically adjusted and had significantly lowered their blood pressure compared to 25 similar patients who received “sham” adjustments.
X-rays showed that the procedure realigned the Atlas vertebra - the doughnut-like bone at the very top of the spine - with the spine in the treated patients, but not in the sham-treated patients.
Compared to the sham-treated patients, those who received specific Chiropractic adjustments saw an average 14mm Hg greater drop in systolic blood pressure (the top number), and an average of 8mm Hg greater drop in diastolic blood pressure (the bottom number). None of the patients took blood pressure medicine during the eight-week study.
Dr. Bakris reported, “when the statistician brought me the data, I actually didn’t believe it. It was way too good to be true.” The statistician said, “I didn’t believe it either, but we checked for everything and there it was.”
THE CHIROPRACTIC ADVANTAGE
The researchers suggested that injury to the neck earlier in life can affect blood flow in the arteries at the base of the skull. The atlas, when misaligned, causes a disease process in every organ, cell, and function in your body. Whether or not you have symptoms or positive tests, you need to find out if your atlas is in its normal position before it's too late, deadly, and in need of emergency medicine.
