Home Care
To attain optimum correction, patients may be required
to perform home care in conjunction with chiropractic adjustments.
Ultimately, all home care products are recommended for good maintenance
and stability of the spine. Ask your doctor which items are most
essential for you!
In
cases of anterior head carriage and/or loss of cervical curve, the use
of 4lb. head weights at home may be necessary to retrain a patient's
neurology, posture, and biomechanics.
Home
traction exercises become important in the restoration of a cervical
curve, as traction reduces the spine's resistance to correction by
stretching the muscles of the neck, and re-hydrating the discs of the
spinal column.
Patients
with chronic lumbar subluxations that have caused degeneration or
thinning of the intervertebral discs may be required to perform seated
lumbar exercises on an inflatable disc. "Wobble" exercises, as they are
called, promote re-hydration of the lumbar discs in conjunction with chiropractic adjustments.
