I have been a foster parent for the last several years. I have brought all my foster children to Dr. Hardick for adjustments, and I have seen great things. I have seen behaviour improve with chiropractic care. I have seen bed wetting resolved. I feel that adjustments help children grow straighter and live a healthier life. Personally, I first came to Hardick Chiropractic Centre twenty years ago. I feel that without adjustments, I would not have been able to work many of my jobs, some of which involved a lot of heavy lifting. Today, I do not know how I would be able to take care of the children without keeping myself subluxation-free.
Anthony was one child that I really felt needed the help of chiropractic. When he was born, he tested positive for cocaine. His muscles and spine were stiff since birth, and this was attributed to the chemical toxicity in his system. I was told he would be toxic for the first year of his life! For a short time before I started taking care of him in my home, Anthony had been seeing a physiotherapist to improve his mobility and flexibility, but he did not make any progress.
He was a child that didn't make any attempt to roll over at 41/2 months. He was a baby that just laid there. He was not able to roll or move, due to the stiffness. As an infant, he was already behind in development.
I brought Anthony to see Dr. Hardick, who found that his atlas (the top bone in his neck) was severely subluxated. Dr. Hardick explained that there are 3 types of stress that can subluxate the spine: physical, emotional, and chemical stress. Dr. Hardick explained that chemical stress can be one of the worst causes of subluxation, and this would likely explain why Anthony's neck was so considerably misaligned. Dr. Hardick said that most adjustments for babies are very gentle, but he was amazed how difficult it was to move Anthony's first vertebra back in place.
After Anthony's first adjustment, he started kicking his feet, like he was riding a bike. This was something he had not done before. And that night, he slept through the night for the first time. Within the first week, he rolled over for the first time. Within days, I could see further improvement.
When the physiotherapist returned to visit Anthony after six weeks of chiropractic care, she felt that there was no longer any need for her help! Anthony was doing so well, he was doing things typical for his age group, and he was doing some things beyond the expectations of his age group. Now, at seven months, he is even able to pull himself up. He is living a healthy life, he is a beautiful young boy, and I am so grateful that chiropractic has helped him.
